A body of paintings that I am working on that shows experimentation with surface texture, using portraits and figures as the main subject matter.

This body of work was started through pure experimentation with creating my own textured surfaces, using collage materials (newspaper, magazine, etc.) and gesso on wood board. This helps to visually communicate a “worn”, or “aged” feeling.

I plan to work more with larger portraits and figures that communicate narratives revolving around memories, both nostalgic and spontaneous.
